Ohio indie-punk band Mixtapes has premiered a new song, “C.C.S.,” from their forthcoming album, Ordinary Silence, today at Absolutepunk.net.  The band’s upcoming record is scheduled for release on June 25th from No Sleep Records and can be pre-ordered now at http://nosleeprecords.com/ordinarysilence/. Listen to “C.C.S.” now at Absolutepunk.net.

“”C.C.S.” is in some ways the centerpiece of the album,” says Mixtapes’ guitarist/co-vocalist Ryan Rockwell.  “It's where the album title was taken from and the meaning.  I've spent so many years denying my problems and blaming them on other people.  I've treated people in ways I never meant to, and honestly didn't realize until later on.  Looking back at old friends, people you've hurt, people that have passed, and thinking of all the things you wish you said differently.  This isn't supposed to be a sad song, but it turned into one.  It's overall about finding the faults in yourself, not everyone else.  And after you do that hoping the person is still around so you can apologize, or even have a conversation with them.  We get so caught up in the huge scale of things that personal relationships and turmoil get left behind. The only problem is in our most dark and fragile moments, those relationships are the only things there to save us.”

“C.C.S.” is the latest release from Ordinary Silence, which also includes the summer anthems “Happy and Poor,” “Elevator Days,” “Bad Parts” and “Everything’s Eventual.”

Mixtapes will kick-off their “Ordinary Silence Tour” on June 27th with You Blew It! and Light Years in support, which will lead into dates on the second half of the Vans Warped Tour.  Pre-order your copy of Ordinary Silence now and catch the band on tour in a city near you!
