Lou Reed, the iconic vocalist, songwriter and guitarist of The Velvet Underground, passed away yesterday morning at age 71 on Long Island. A report from the New York Times said he died from liver disease. As is evident in an article from Paste (and quite a few others), Reed was a truly monumental artist and will surely be missed.
