In a world with genres so obscure that even hipsters are ignorant of (even if they won't admit it), Moses Sumney is hard to pin down. Sometimes he's looping as many percussive sounds as he can create with his hands, simultaneously performing harmonies with himself ("Everlasting Sigh"), but at others, the stage is stripped bare with only his buttery, soulful voice and softly plucked guitar ("Dwell in the Dark"). Regardless of which expression, the results are masterfully executed with awe-inspiring results. Sumney will be opening for Local Natives on their upcoming spring tour, along with playing a few SXSW showcases (next week), so if you get a chance to see him soon, don't pass it up.
